Carol Tello served as IFA USA President from February 2020 until her sudden passing in August 2020. IFA USA, in conjunction with the American Bar Association Tax Section and the International Bar Association, has established the annual Carol Tello International Tax Lecture Series. The inaugural lecture was held at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, and future lectures will be hosted by the Georgetown University Law Center.

Carol served in many capacities at IFA, including as Vice President of the Washington DC Region, on the Executive Committee of the USA Branch, and lastly as President of the USA Branch. As our first female President she emphasized the importance of inclusion, diversity and a focus on Women in IFA (WIN).

The Inaugural Lecture of the Carol Tello International Tax Lecture Series was given by Grace Perez-Navarro, Deputy Director, Center for Tax Policy and Administration, OECD, on November 18, 2021.
