Dear Tax Colleague,

This is to invite you to attend the fourth meeting of the Fall/Winter/Spring 2015-2016 Luncheon Series of the International Fiscal Association, USA Branch, Westchester County, NY/Connecticut Region, taking place on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Sheraton Stamford Hotel, 700 Main Street, Stamford, CT 06901, directions attached, from 12 Noon to 2 PM.

The topic of our meeting, Wednesday, January 13th, will be “The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016”, or as it was more commonly known, the "Omnibus” or Extenders" bill, which was signed into law by the President last Friday.  The Act does more than just fund the federal government for the remainder of the fiscal year and contain the extenders, it also includes a wealth of tax provisions.  We are fortunate to have as our presenter, Sean Hailey, former Tax Advisor to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means, who re-joined Ernst & Young LLP in March 2015 as a partner with the firm’s National Tax Department - International Tax Services in Washington, DC.  As a Tax Advisor with the House Committee on Ways and Means, Hailey helped formulate international tax policy and draft tax reform proposals primarily focusing on moving the U.S. international tax system to a territorial tax system.  Prior to his seven years with the House Committee on Ways and Means, Hailey spent four years with the International Tax group of Ernst & Young LLP in the Northeast region. In that role he focused on advising U.S. multinational clients on domestic and foreign taxation issues as well as strategic transactions, including acquisition structuring and financing structures.

Sean earned his Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Taxation from Fordham
University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The College of the Holy Cross. He is a
certified public accountant licensed in the state of New York. His bio is attached here.

At this and every meeting a three course lunch will be served. The cost for attending individual meetings is $50.

Participants will be entitled to CPE and CLE credits.  We are not currently registered with the IRS Tax Return Preparer CE program as attorneys and CPAs in good standing are exempt

Each meeting will offer you an excellent opportunity to make contacts and stay abreast of all the latest international tax developments.  We urge you to join now, come to every meeting to expand your network and technical expertise, and take advantage of our low fees.

Happy holidays,

Keith Richey
Regional Vice President
