This session will cover the basic rules and provide a primer for planning of US and Global Tax reform including the US book minimum tax, digital service taxes, global minimum tax, Pillar One and Pillar Two and how they fit together. The presenters will walk through what to expect from recent developments and how enterprises can start preparing now for compliance and reporting requirements resulting from these developments. They will also look at the potential impact, of global and US tax reforms, including the effect on certain scenarios.

At the end of the session a participant will be able to:

  •  Identify the elements of the GloBE rules, including the income inclusion rule, the undertaxed payment rule and the qualified domestic minimum top up taxes
  • Explain how the effective tax rate is applied in a jurisdiction, including the determination of covered taxes and the tax income tax base
  • Explain how these rules will impact US multinationals in light of the book minimum tax and other recent US tax developments.

A networking event will follow the presentation. This is the revitalized IFA PNW chapter’s first in-person event and is a great opportunity to meet other international tax professionals around the Northwest. There is no cost to attend - we are truly looking forward to seeing everyone there.
