Diverted Profits Tax: A Roadmap
Thursday June 11th, 2015
Elks Business Center, 4249 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, CA 94306
4:00 pm - 6.00 pm PST
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EST
Please join us on June 11th 2015 in Palo Alto or by webinar for a special program covering the new U.K. Diverted Profits Tax.
The U.K. introduced a new Diverted Profits Tax in April 2015. DPT targets corporations that use “artificial arrangements” to shift profits overseas. The rate of tax on diverted profits, 25 percent, exceeds the basic U.K. statutory rate, which is now 20 percent.
This session will cover how the UK government and HMRC intend the new rules to apply, how companies can determine whether or not they might have either a liability or notification requirement under DPT, and how the introduction of DPT may impact future structures involving the U.K.
The presenters will also cover the creditability of DPT for foreign tax credit purposes, and will also discuss whether or not the introduction of DPT should be viewed as a harbinger of changes happening in other jurisdictions.
Our panelists are:
Christie Buck, Partner, Deloitte LLP (London)
Todd Welty: Partner, McDermott Will & Emery (Dallas)
David Gill, Partner, Ernst & Young LLP (San Francisco)
This program is scheduled to provide 2 hours of CLE/CPE credits.
