We are excited to announce that the IFA Triangle Chapter has scheduled its inaugural Chapter meeting for Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Kevin Phillips, international tax partner with Baker Tilly UK, will be here to discuss the new UK budget proposals. These proposals significantly modify the controlled foreign company rules, making the UK a much more attractive location for holding companies. The new budget also introduces a new R&D incentive, and reduces the corporate income tax rates.

8:30 am - 9:30 am	Latest Improvements to UK Rules Speaker: Kevin Phillips, International Tax Partner, Baker Tilly UK View Kevin's Biography An informative discussion covering the latest improvements to the United Kingdom rules on group holding and finance companies. The new budget also introduces a new R&D incentive, and reduces the corporate income tax rates. Additionally, the budget introduces a tax regime that allows for a 75% exemption from income tax for profit from intergroup financing income (this would result in an effective tax rate of 5.5% by 2014 when corporation income tax rates reach 22%). Considering there is no source withholding under UK law, these developments make the UK a very attractive option for group financing company structures.
